Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)

Commonly referred to as the Live Music Capital of the World®, Austin is a city that prides itself on being far from ordinary. Hip and trendy, with a laid-back Texas drawl, Austin's eclectic nature provides the perfect place for anyone in search of a good time. From the great outdoors to the hidden treasures of exhibit halls, you’re in for a splendid escape to the Lone Star State.

More Than Live Music

Texas’ capital city has a soundtrack all its own — from unique attractions and world-class museums to beautiful landscapes. Take in the local culture and history of Austin with a must-see visit to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Its ever-changing artifacts and special exhibits break down “the story of Texas.” See a 4-D, special-effects film in the Texas Spirit Theater. And, don’t forget to snap a selfie in front of the iconic bronze star statue on the Lone Star Plaza.

Visit South Congress Avenue, also known as the SoCo District. Here, you’ll find a strip of diverse local shops for souvenir hunting, savory restaurants and the perfect boutiques — all with a view of the Texas Capitol in the distance. Boasting an artsy vibe, SoCo is dotted with music venues and galleries to keep you enlightened, as well as entertained. Venture a little further to Sixth Street for a fun night on the town. Here, you’ll find a wide variety of live music venues and electric clubs.

Many of the main outdoor attractions happen around Lady Bird Lake, which runs though the city center. Drift in the waters of this pristine reservoir by kayak or paddleboard. Visit the Lady Bird Johnson wildflower center, comprised of caves, waterfalls, native plants and a variety of huge, natural birds’ nests. Or, explore the lush terrain by hiking or biking the boardwalk.
